How to get rid of a car that hit you, says Bill’s Auto Repair
When a car hit you in the head and killed you, it’s not uncommon for the driver to deny any responsibility and to blame it on a mechanical problem.
That’s why Bill’s is offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
That money will go to the family of the deceased.
The money is also being offered to anyone who can provide the details needed to identify and charge the driver.
Bill’s says it’s a $50,000 incentive for the public to help identify the driver and provide any information that can help.
It says the reward money will also go to Bill’s and his business partners to provide their assistance.
“We can’t speculate on what kind of car or person the driver may be, but we’re hoping that information can lead to the arrest of this person,” Bill’s said in a release.
“There are a lot of cars in the community that are being driven and that are probably a lot more dangerous than the vehicle involved in this accident.”
Bill’s owner, Bill Darnell, says he has received numerous phone calls and emails from people wanting to donate money for the reward.
He’s offered to give away $1,000 to anyone willing to call or text him to find out where the money is going.
“I’ve received more than 400 calls since the accident,” he said.
“This is going to be the best way for us to get it all in the right place and to be able to move forward.”
Darnel says he will make a call to Bill and give him the details about the car involved.
Anyone who wants to donate can do so at his business, Darnells Auto Repair, on the third floor of his garage.
